U.S. Carries Out Third Strike on Iran This Week, Total Targets Hit Tops 300

According to Huo Xing Finance, the U.S. military said on July 12 it has completed its third round of strikes against Iran this week. The operation used land-based and carrier-based fighter aircraft, drones and naval vessels, employing precision-guided munitions to hit about 140 Iranian military targets. Sites struck included missile and drone bases, naval capability facilities, ammunition depots, communications networks and coastal surveillance positions. U.S. Central Command said more than 300 targets have been struck since the start of the week under issued directives. It also noted that commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz—one of the world's most important maritime corridors—has continued without interruption, indicating the key energy transit route has not been fully cut off despite rising hostilities. The latest operation is the third large-scale U.S. action against Iran this week, following earlier strikes on roughly 90 coastal targets and 170 additional military targets. The sequence signals a rapid escalation in U.S.-Iran military tensions, expanding beyond initial flashpoints near the strait to a broader swath of Iranian military infrastructure.
