Unseasonal Brazil harvest rains lift India’s Robusta to ₹220/kg after falling from ₹284/kg

Persistent unseasonal rain in Brazil’s main coffee belt during the June–July harvest has slowed picking and raised worries about bean quality and global supply. Robusta prices jumped in a day to ₹220/kg, shifting South Indian markets such as Wayanad and Coorg from heavy selling to farmers holding back stock. Earlier, expectations of a bumper Brazil crop had pushed India’s Robusta cherry price down from ₹284/kg to ₹195/kg. Brazil produces about one-third of the world’s coffee, compared with roughly 3% for India.
