DeepSeek Completes RMB 100 Billion Financing Round Led by CATL and Tencent

DeepSeek has completed a financing round of approximately RMB 100 billion, about $15 billion. CATL and Tencent are among the largest investors. The company raised its funding target at least twice during negotiations, from RMB 50 billion to RMB 80 billion and finally to the current amount. Proceeds will support global competition with U.S. AI firms like Anthropic and OpenAI.
