NYSE Arca and NYSE American filed SEC rule changes to remove the 25,000-contract position and exercise limits on options tied to spot bitcoin and ether ETFs, with the changes effective immediately. The update covers options on 11 crypto ETF products and also permits these contracts to trade as FLEX options with customizable terms. With these filings, major U.S. exchanges now treat crypto ETF options the same as other commodity-based ETF options.

Immunefi's “State of Onchain Security 2026” report argues that a hack's impact extends well beyond the moment funds are stolen, often turning into a months-long operational and market crisis. The report estimates average direct theft at about $25 million and finds hacked tokens saw a median 61% drop over six months, with 84% failing to regain their hack-day price in that period.

On March 21, 2026, Amundi launched the Spiko Amundi Overnight Swap Fund (SAFO) with $100 million in pledged assets to bring corporate cash and collateral management on-chain. The tokenized fund operates across Ethereum and Stellar, with Chainlink publishing NAV data on-chain, and subscriptions available in EUR, USD, GBP, or CHF with a minimum of one unit.

Ether (ETH) could advance about 25% in the coming months after the largest wallets holding more than 100,000 ETH moved back into aggregate profit for the first time since early February. If past post-signal patterns repeat, ETH may aim for around $2,750 by June and potentially above $3,200 by September, while other on-chain and chart levels highlight $2,353 and $2,640 as key hurdles.

On March 21, 2026, the CFTC confirmed that BTC, ETH, and tokenized assets can be used as eligible collateral in regulated futures and swaps markets, subject to liquidity, custody, and risk-management requirements.
