What Is SEALCOIN (QAIT) and How Does It Work?
SEALCOIN (QAIT) is a decentralized,
internet-of-things (IoT) payment protocol engineered to power the Autonomous Machine Economy. Developed as part of the WISeKey cybersecurity ecosystem, the network enables connected smart hardware, industrial machinery, and
AI agents to communicate, verify data, and exchange financial value without human oversight. The project’s native utility token, QAIT, is governed by the independent, Switzerland-based QAIT Association and functions as the primary settlement asset across the ecosystem.
The core infrastructure operates as a
decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN), leveraging the high-throughput
Hedera ledger to settle microtransactions between devices in mere seconds. To ensure true autonomy, physical hardware units, ranging from smart agriculture sensors to autonomous drones, are equipped with tamper-proof cryptographic microchips that bind a secure digital identity directly to the machine. This hardware-rooted framework allows devices to act as independent economic actors capable of executing pre-programmed service level agreements automatically.
Security and global scalability are maintained through a combination of advanced quantum-resistant cryptography and space-based communication networks. Developed alongside SEALSQ, SEALCOIN’s post-quantum algorithms protect machine-to-machine (M2M) data streams from future decryption threats, ensuring industrial environments remain resilient against network vulnerabilities. Furthermore, integration with WISeSat low-Earth-orbit satellites allows devices located in completely remote, off-grid terrestrial locations to securely sign, validate, and settle transactions anywhere on the globe.
When Did SEALCOIN Launch?
The historical foundations of SEALCOIN date back to 2024 when Nasdaq-listed cybersecurity firm WISeKey International Holding Ltd., led by founder and CEO Carlos Moreira, conceptualized a decentralized network capable of securing autonomous machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. Developed in strategic partnership with The Hashgraph Association and WISeKey's post-quantum hardware subsidiary SEALSQ, the project launched its initial Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in January 2025 to enable cryptographic device-onboarding. A Proof of Concept was completed in July 2024, with platform development ramping up in Q3 2024. Pre-seed funding of $2 million came in mid-2024.
Following two years of ecosystem development and a successful automated points-farming campaign via Binance Alpha, the platform's native QAIT token officially made its global market launch on May 28, 2026. Governed by the independent, Geneva-based QAIT Association, the project secured its foundational backing through a mix of public and strategic venture investment, dedicating 10% of its total 10 billion token supply to investors to bootstrap liquidity across prominent exchanges like BingX.
SEALCOIN (QAIT) Strategic Ecosystem Roadmap
- Phase 1: Foundation and Proof of Concept (2024) – Completed initial development of the machine-to-machine architecture and executed successful M2M service-versus-payment trials.
- Phase 2: Platform MVP and Mainnet Alpha (2025) – Launched the operational onboarding interface in January and successfully integrated the functional token layer onto the Hedera mainnet by October.
- Phase 3: Public TGE and Global Exchange Debut (Q2 2026) – Formalized governance under the independent QAIT Association and successfully executed the Token Generation Event (TGE) on May 28, 2026, across premier digital asset exchanges.
- Phase 4: Hardware Integration and Satellite Scaling (Late 2026 - 2027) – Scaling global device deployment by natively embedding QAIT-compatible cryptographic chips into industrial IoT hardware, automated robotics, and WISeSat low-Earth-orbit satellite data networks.
What Is the QAIT Token Utility?
The QAIT token functions as the native economic fuel for the SEALCOIN DePIN. Its primary utility centers on facilitating autonomous, machine-to-machine (M2M) microtransactions, allowing physical IoT devices, automated infrastructure, and AI agents to seamlessly buy and sell data streams, processing power, or localized services without human intervention. Additionally, the token is utilized to settle transaction fees on the network, secure device identities via cryptographic staking, and empower holders to participate in ecosystem governance through the Switzerland-based QAIT Association.
What Is SEALCOIN Tokenomics?
SEALCOIN (QAIT) has a fixed maximum supply of 10 billion tokens with no additional minting, issued on Hedera Hashgraph.
