OTC whale takes roughly $5.4 million hit after KelpDAO rsETH bridge bug blocks Aave ETH withdrawal

On-chain analytics firm Lookonchain (@lookonchain) reported that a large OTC whale previously accumulated 163,405 ETH (about $440 million) and 4,000 cbBTC (about $296 million). A vulnerability in the KelpDAO rsETH cross-chain bridge prevented the whale from withdrawing ETH from Aave as usual, forcing a discounted sale of 7,438 aEthWETH (around $16.83 million) for 1,930 stETH and 5,272 ETH. The transaction resulted in an estimated loss of 237 ETH, or roughly $5.4 million. The whale has since withdrawn 98,032 wstETH (about $272 million) and 3,000 cbBTC (about $221.6 million) from Aave, and still holds 10,000 ETH (around $22.8 million) on the platform.
