FBI Seizes More Than $8B in Crypto in Record U.S. Forfeiture, Fox News Reports
The FBI has seized more than $8 billion in cryptocurrency and arrested nearly 300 suspects in a global operation targeting scam compounds across Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand and the UAE, according to Fox News. The bureau said the haul represents the largest cryptocurrency forfeiture in U.S. government history. Authorities also freed nearly 2,000 people who were allegedly coerced into working at scam centers. Separately, Starlink disabled more than 7,000 terminals in Myanmar that were allegedly tied to fraud activity.
