Berachain Recovers $12.8M from BEX/Balancer v2 Exploit, Resumes Operations

Berachain Foundation recovered approximately $12.8 million lost through a BEX/Balancer v2 vulnerability, with assets returned to the Foundation Deployer address on Nov. 5, the foundation announced. The blockchain has resumed operations with HONEY minting and redemption functions restored, while all BEX functionalities including swaps, withdrawals, and deposits remain restricted. The core team is developing a system to return deposits from exploited pools with numerous individual depositors to their original addresses, and users with unaffected deposits in BEX are temporarily unable to withdraw as the root cause of the Balancer vulnerability remains under investigation.
