What is IRIS and how does IRIS work? IRIS network is an internet of blockchains planned to provide a technological foundation that facilitates the building of distributed business applications. The network is a part of a larger cosmos network, and all zones in the network can interact with other zones over the standard IBC protocol.


When was IRIS launched?


From January 2018 to March 2019 the first stage of the IRIS project was built and focused primarily on setting up the IRIS hub including the initial version of the mobile client for the network. The team behind the IRIS network is Bianjie and Tendermint, Bianjie is a shanghai based start-up founded in 2016 that focuses on products for the healthcare and financial market using advanced blockchain and AI technologies, while the Tendermint team developed the Tendermint consensus engine and is presently building Cosmos.
