SEC approves Cboe BZX rule change for 3x Bitcoin and Ether leveraged ETPs on Oct. 2
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The SEC approved CBOE BZX rule changes enabling first US-listed 3x daily-reset leveraged ETPs linked to CME Bitcoin and Ether futures, alongside commodity leverage products. This expands regulated access to high-leverage crypto exposure, potentially shifting some activity from offshore venues and increasing short-term derivatives-driven flows. However, the daily reset structure, futures roll costs, and volatility decay make long holding structurally erosive, limiting broader institutional relevance.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a Cboe BZX rule change on Oct. 2, clearing the way for 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products. The approval covers six VS Trust funds proposed by Volatility Shares, spanning Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, silver, crude oil and natural gas. The products are daily-reset leveraged vehicles, a structure that can erode capital for long-term holders. The move marks the first time the SEC has allowed Bitcoin to use the same leverage framework commonly applied to commodities less than three years after its legal dispute with Grayscale over a spot Bitcoin ETF.
