SocGen posts record €1.79 billion Q2 profit, lifts ROTE target to around 11%
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
SocGen reported record Q2 net income (€1.79bn, +23%) and beat revenue expectations, driven by stronger retail banking and better cost control, prompting upgrades to full-year ROTE (~11%) and cost-cutting targets. A €1.5bn buyback and higher interim dividend reinforce capital return momentum. Weakness in fixed-income and FX trading highlights mixed investment-banking conditions, but overall results support a more constructive tone for European bank equities.
