XRP Jumps 53% in a Week, Markets Watch $1.55 Breakout
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
XRP rallied ~53% on the week, pushing price back toward a widely watched $1.55 resistance zone while $1.45 is highlighted as near-term support. Participation metrics strengthened: futures open interest rose to ~$3.72B with heavy derivatives volume, and U.S. spot XRP ETFs reportedly saw ~$39.78M weekly inflows, the strongest since May. The setup implies higher volatility around the resistance test as leverage builds.

XRP surged over the past week, putting the token back in focus as traders look for a decisive move above the $1.55 resistance zone.
CoinMarketCap data showed XRP around $1.47 on Aug. 24, trading within a $1.46–$1.54 daily range. The rally, described by several analysts as XRP's strongest advance in months, pushed price close to a level that has previously capped momentum.
Market activity also picked up across derivatives and exchange-traded products. CoinGlass reported XRP futures open interest at about $3.72 billion on Aug. 24, alongside roughly $8.84 billion in 24-hour futures volume. Spot volume on the same dashboard was near $1.89 billion. Rising open interest signals growing exposure during the rebound, though leveraged positioning can heighten downside risk if price stalls near resistance. The heavy futures activity relative to spot turnover also suggests volatility could increase around key levels.
In spot products, SoSoValue data showed U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds drew $39.78 million in net inflows during Aug. 17–21, their strongest weekly intake since May. Cumulative net inflows were reported at about $1.55 billion after the latest additions. The flows point to improved institutional participation, though they remain modest compared with XRP's overall market size.
Technically, attention is concentrated on the $1.55 area. Analyst Crypto Patel highlighted $1.55 as the next immediate hurdle and said a sustained move above it could extend the next bullish leg, while a rejection could send XRP back toward lower accumulation zones. With CoinMarketCap's 24-hour high at $1.54, the market faces a near-term test that could clarify whether buyers have truly cleared resistance.
Support is also being tracked around $1.45. XRP Update said buyers have been defending that level and noted liquidity appearing across multiple exchanges while it held. The near-term structure is now framed by the $1.45–$1.55 range: holding above $1.45 would keep the latest higher-range setup intact, while a break below it would weaken the short-term outlook.
On fundamentals and supply, Ripple's XRP page reported 37.66 billion XRP in company holdings as of June 30, with 32.6 billion XRP in on-ledger escrow at quarter-end. While escrow mechanics are separate from daily exchange trading, market participants often monitor releases due to potential longer-term effects on circulating supply and liquidity.
Ripple also said it is expanding infrastructure tied to the XRP Ledger. On Aug. 3, the company announced investments in ZILO and Licuido, stating the deals would broaden regulated transfer agency, issuance, and collateral mobility capabilities.
Looking further out, Crypto Patel referenced longer-term targets between $5 and $10 as a personal view, not a confirmed market objective. CoinMarketCap data shows XRP remains below its January 2018 all-time high of $3.84, keeping the current move within a broader recovery context.
For now, the next key signal is XRP's reaction near $1.55. Traders are also monitoring $1.45 support, ETF flows, and futures open interest. A sustained close above resistance would strengthen the breakout case, while another rejection would revive retracement risk.
