Korean chip-linked leveraged ETFs head for first monthly outflow, shedding nearly $1 billion in August

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Nearly $1B of August outflows from Korea's chip-linked leveraged ETFs (about $381M tied to Samsung Electronics and $601M to SK Hynix) signals fading AI-trading momentum and tighter regulatory constraints on speculative demand. If sustained, it would be the first monthly net outflow since these products launched in late May, potentially reducing marginal flow support for Korean semiconductor exposures and related high-beta positioning in the near term.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that cooling enthusiasm for AI-driven trading, along with steps by South Korean regulators to rein in demand for related investments, has triggered sizable withdrawals from leveraged ETFs tied to domestic chipmakers. So far in August, about $381 million has been pulled from leveraged products linked to Samsung Electronics, while roughly $601 million has left those tied to SK Hynix. At nearly $1 billion in total outflows, the trend puts the products on track for their first monthly net withdrawal since launching in late May, according to Bloomberg.
