BNB Chain has activated the Pasteur hard fork on the BSC mainnet, the project said on X on Aug. 25, according to ChainThink. The upgrade bundles three proposals. BEP682 patches a flaw in cross-chain bridge verification that could allow validator signatures to be counted more than once. BEP695 standardizes permissioning and slashing rules following validator key rotations, shutting a loophole that previously enabled circumvention of governance voting blacklists. BEP675 enables block builders to submit executed blocks, cutting validator time spent on repetitive computations. Testnet results showed throughput rising to 2,324 TPS from 1,237 TPS, while block production speed and gas fees remained unchanged.
