Aave Floats Plan to Delist More Than 50 Thinly Used Reserves Totaling $98.1M
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Aave's plan to deprecate 50 low-adoption reserves, remove expired Pendle PTs, and shut down six small deployments affects ~$98.1M supplied and ~$15.6M debt, signaling a shift toward capital efficiency and lower protocol maintenance costs. Freezing new activity and compressing limits reduces long-tail asset support while the 99% reserve factor is designed to accelerate position closures. Short-term liquidity may migrate to core markets.

Aave is weighing a broad cleanup of underused markets. Founder Stani Kulechov said on July 30, 2026, that the protocol has put forward a proposal to deprecate 50 low-adoption asset reserves and 21 expired Pendle PTs, and to fully wind down six smaller deployments: Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, Metis, Soneium and Aptos.
The changes would impact about $98.1 million in supplied assets and $15.6 million in outstanding debt, according to The Block. The plan was drafted by risk service provider LlamaRisk and is being rolled out under Aave's new risk framework, with the stated goal of reducing operational overhead and cutting ongoing costs tied to oracle support and liquidation infrastructure.
Under the proposal, affected reserves would be frozen for new activity, with supply and borrow limits tightened. For markets slated for shutdown, Aave would raise the reserve factor to 99% to encourage users to voluntarily unwind positions.
