In the 30 days leading up to Dec. 10, large Ethereum wallets holding between 10,000 ETH and 100,000 ETH accumulated more than 800,000 ETH, worth over $2.4 billion at an average purchase price of $3,105. Over the same period, ETH briefly fell to around $2,600 before rebounding more than 7% in a single day to trade near $3,321 as it moved back above the $3,300 mark.

On December 10, Bitcoin briefly climbed to around $94,500 before easing. Jerome Powell is set to reveal the Federal Reserve rate decision later the same day. BTC traded near $93,000, up 3%, per TradingView. Ethereum rose 9% to about $3,350, and the total crypto market cap reached roughly $3.26 trillion.

XRP led weekly digital asset ETP inflows with $245M, compared with Ethereum’s $39.1M and Solana’s $3M. Total ETP inflows reached $716M. XRP’s haul was nearly six times Ethereum’s, signaling a sharp shift in investor demand. The pattern underscores short-term momentum and a preference for liquidity in structured crypto products.

British cybercrime suspect Danny Khan, also known as Danish Zulfiqar, has reportedly been detained in Dubai after authorities allegedly seized $18.58 million in cryptocurrency tied to transfers of about 3,670 ETH, according to on-chain investigator ZachXBT. He has been linked to a $243 million theft from a Genesis creditor in August 2024 and to the 2023 Kroll SIM swap incident that exposed creditor data and allegedly led to losses exceeding $300 million. Investigators have followed the funds across multiple exchanges and blockchains, but authorities have not yet issued formal confirmation of his arrest.

On December 5, Binance posted net inflows of 162,084 ETH, the largest daily increase since April 2023, with exchange reserves rising to 3.88M ETH. ETH open interest held above $17.62B, with more than 70% of traders positioned long. The token traded just above $3,000 as large whale deposits boosted spot inflows.

On December 8, 2025, Ethereum‑associated projects were ranked by 30‑day commits, with Chainlink first and Status second, according to Santiment. A December 9 overview said developer attention is shifting from the base protocol toward middleware and applications. It suggested growth may be driven by oracles, liquidity, indexing, storage, and media layers rather than core scalability.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a net outflow of $60.48 million on Monday, with BlackRock's IBIT taking in $28.76 million while GBTC and FBTC shed $44.03 million and $39.44 million respectively, according to SoSoValue. Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded a $35.5 million net inflow the same day. XRP ETFs have amassed more than $900 million since launching last month, including $38.04 million in inflows on Monday.

Santiment said Monday that a net 403,200 BTC—about 2.1% of total supply—has left centralized exchanges over the past year, even as Bitcoin trades below $90,000. Glassnode data show that only 14.7% of Bitcoin’s supply now sits on exchanges. Analysts point to mixed technical signals and a possible price floor between $74,000 and $77,000.

BPCE, France’s second-largest banking group, opened in-app crypto trading on Monday for selected Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Épargne customers. The limited rollout lets about 2 million users across four regional banks buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and USDC. BPCE aims to extend availability by 2026 across 25 remaining regional entities.

On December 8, 2025, the U.S. CFTC launched a pilot allowing Bitcoin, Ether and USDC to be used as collateral in regulated derivatives markets, according to the agency. For the first three months, futures commission merchants may accept only these assets and must submit weekly reports. The agency also issued guidance on tokenized collateral and withdrew a 2020 advisory.
