On March 31, BlackRock filed Amendment No. 1 to a Form S-1 with the U.S. SEC describing the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, a product that pairs bitcoin-linked exposure with options-based income. The filing says shares would trade on Nasdaq under the ticker "BITA" and that the trust plans to seek monthly premium income primarily by selling covered calls on IBIT shares, while noting derivatives and bitcoin-related risks.

Bitcoin’s average deposit size sent to centralized exchanges rose sharply, with the mean Exchange Inflow reaching 2.62 BTC. The move is described as an uncommon level that has historically shown up during stressed market conditions, while BTC was last noted trading around $68,500.

QCP Group published a note assessing quantum-computing risks for crypto after a Google whitepaper dated March 30 argued Bitcoin-style elliptic-curve cryptography could be broken with fewer quantum resources than previously believed. The firm says the issue is a long-term, system-wide challenge tied to public-key infrastructure rather than an immediate market shock, while noting BTC was trading in the high $68k range at the time of writing.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs ended March 2026 with their first monthly net inflow of the year, totaling $1.32 billion. January saw $1.61 billion in outflows and February recorded a further $206.52 million exit, breaking a four-month streak of monthly withdrawals. On March 31, the group added $117.63 million, with BlackRock leading daily inflows at about 1,450 BTC worth $98.42 million.
