UPDATE: Elliptic Flags Suspected North Korean State Role in $285M Drift Protocol Exploit

Blockchain intelligence firm Elliptic said its onchain forensic review of the recent Drift Protocol exploit indicates suspected involvement by a DPRK-linked state actor. The firm noted that the post-hack laundering behavior closely mirrors patterns seen in earlier incidents previously attributed to North Korea. Drift Protocol is a decentralized exchange on Solana with thousands of users worldwide. United Nations reports have repeatedly described North Korea as a persistent and organized participant in cryptocurrency-related cybercrime.
