Bitcoin Breaches $60,000 Threshold Amid Significant Large Holder Divestment

Bitcoin (BTC) surged to $60,001 on February 6, reaching a level not seen since October 2021, according to data from Santiment. This price milestone occurred concurrently with significant divestment from large holders. Addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC, often referred to as 'whales', collectively net sold 81,068 BTC over an eight-day period, reducing their total supply share to a nine-month low of 68.04%. Conversely, the supply share held by addresses with less than 0.01 BTC increased to 0.249%, marking a 20-month high, indicating a potential redistribution of Bitcoin ownership towards smaller retail participants.
