UK to Bring Crypto Firms Under Full FCA Supervision Starting in 2027

On 15 December 2025, the UK government outlined plans for the Financial Conduct Authority to assume full oversight of crypto activities from 2027, integrating digital assets into the mainstream regulatory framework. Ahead of that date, new laws recognizing crypto as property and draft rules on trading, custody, and stablecoins are being developed to clarify obligations for exchanges and service providers.
