O’Charley’s, a 55-year-old U.S. casual dining chain, has reportedly permanently closed all of its remaining company-operated restaurants nationwide. Parent company Cannae Holdings holds a 65.4% equity interest, and its SEC filings show guest counts fell 23.8% year over year in Q2 2026 while comparable-store sales dropped 13.1%. Comparable-store sales were down 12.8% over the first six months of 2026.

The U.S. General Services Administration has reached an agreement with OpenAI that gives the federal government a 50% discount on access to the company’s most advanced AI models, with no minimum spending requirement. The arrangement is being executed through GSA’s OneGov procurement strategy to speed AI adoption across federal agencies. Other government entities—including state, local and tribal governments—will also be able to use the same models at the same discount, according to a deal document obtained by Fox News Digital.

Apple, led by new CEO John Ternus, introduced the foldable iPhone Duo with a $1,999 starting price and a 7.6inch display that the company says is the largest ever on an iPhone and also its thinnest when opened. Apple also announced AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and a slate of new AI features. The Apple Watch Series 12 adds an updated health sensing system with higherfrequency heart rate and heart rate variability measurements and starts at $399.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned Ford Motor Co. that its growing reliance on Chinese technology and manufacturing partnerships poses national security risks and threatens U.S. jobs. In a letter to CEO Jim Farley, Duffy cited Ford’s continued use of CATL-licensed battery technology in Michigan, a joint venture with Geely in Spain, reported talks with BYD on hybrid components, and delayed plans to bring Lincoln models back to U.S. production that he said could extend until 2030. Ford shares fell 4.1%.

Campbell’s said it is cutting 13% of its salaried workforce and closing two snack plants as it seeks to improve operations and return to profitability. The company’s snacks volumes fell 6%, and it has implemented average price increases of 4% to 5% across about 60% of its portfolio, with benefits expected to begin flowing through in the second quarter. Campbell’s plans to generate about $500 million in cost savings by fiscal 2030. It forecast fiscal 2027 net sales to decline 2% to 4% and adjusted earnings per share of $1.65 to $1.80, below analysts’ estimates of $1.86.

Southwest Airlines said it will roll out its first airport lounge network, with four lounges scheduled to open in Austin, Baltimore, Honolulu and Nashville by late 2027. The lounges will offer dining options, amenities and travel benefits. The move is designed to deepen the carrier’s 30-year partnership with Chase and strengthen its Rapid Rewards loyalty program.

Uber said it will cut roughly 3,300 jobs, about 10% of its workforce, as it moves to streamline operations. The company plans to remove management layers and reduce the number of small “microteams.” It is also asking most remote employees to return to an office, and expects only about 1% of roles to remain remote going forward.

New York City’s proposed Delivery Protection Act would require some delivery operators to directly employ workers who perform core services, including delivery, and would restrict subcontracting. Amazon says the measure could lift per-package delivery costs by 267% and add $664 a year for every New York City household, while putting more than 40 delivery service partners and 5,000-plus employees at risk, according to Fox News Digital. The company says the rules could push last-mile operations outside the five boroughs and potentially out of the city.

Walmart is rolling out tap-to-pay technology across its U.S. stores, aiming to reach all Walmart and Sam’s Club locations by the end of 2026 and extend it to fuel stations by mid-2027. The company reported second-quarter revenue of $187.9 billion, up 5.9% from a year earlier. U.S. ecommerce sales rose 24% in the quarter, and Walmart raised its outlook for the fiscal year.
