Furthermore, a portion of the SAITO crypto token is available in ERC-20 format, while the remaining SAITO tokens are layer-one SAITO tokens. The token's ERC-20 form can be converted to layer-one SAITO tokens. This token type exists to make purchasing and permissionless integration in off-chain applications easier. Furthermore, it grants token holders the right to withdraw tokens from any public Saito fork.

Layer-one SAITO tokens, on the other hand, are used on-chain and cannot be converted directly to the ERC-20 Saito crypto token. The majority of the token allocation goes to this type of Saito crypto coin. The platform is looking for private sector support to provide token owners with convertibility and liquidity.

On December 24, 2020, David Lancashire and Richard Parris released the whitepaper. They are both cofounders of Saito. Lancashire has been a part of the Chinese crypto space since 2012. Parris has 15 years of experience leading technology projects and teams in Japan and China.

In addition to Lancashire and Parris, the team consists of about five developers. There are two Rust developers, and two Javascript client and application stack developers, along with a sole developer working on the Saito Game Engine and various gaming applications.
