Wells Fargo rebalanced its crypto ETF exposure in Q1 2026, increasing positions in Bitwise's Ethereum ETF (ETHW) and BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) while reducing Bitcoin ETF holdings. ETHW rose 37% to 257,000 shares and ETHA climbed 63.5% to about 1.1 million shares from roughly 672,600 in Q4 2025. The shift came as ETH fell from about $2966 at the start of 2026 to $2023 by quarter-end, while BTC moved from $87,000 at Q1's start to $66,000 by 31 March 2026.

Strategy disclosed a 535 BTC purchase worth $43 million at an average price of $80,340 per coin, lifting the largest Bitcoin digital asset treasury total to 818,869 BTC. The firm said its 2026 BTC yield stands at 9.4%, while its average cost across holdings is $75,540, implying about $4.30 billion in unrealized gains at current levels. MSTR also rose to $195.94 after a 4.45% daily jump, as traders increasingly treat it as a high-beta, leveraged proxy for Bitcoin.

Galaxy Digital and Sharplink said they will launch the Galaxy Sharplink Onchain Yield Fund next week with $125 million in commitments, including $25 million from Galaxy and $100 million sourced from Sharplink's staked Ethereum treasury. The vehicle is designed to deploy capital into DeFi liquidity protocols and other on-chain yield strategies while Sharplink retains core ETH exposure.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies, led by Tom Lee, said it is reducing its weekly Ethereum accumulation pace while still targeting ownership of 5% of the market by December. The company reported holdings of 5,206,790 ETH valued at $11.89 billion, with an average entry price of $2,366 per ETH, representing 4.31% of total supply. It also staked 4,712,917 ETH and estimated annual staking rewards of $352 million as ETH traded at $2,292.56, down 1.78% over the past 24 hours.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs opened May with large inflows, then turned negative as May 7 logged $268.5 million in net outflows while BTC traded around $80K. BTC rose from near $76,000 on May 1 to about $82,000 on May 6 even as ETF flows weakened. Exchange outflows and higher network activity helped support price resilience during the outflow stretch.

From March 30 through April 2, spot crypto ETFs swung between inflows and outflows across BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP products. Spot Bitcoin ETFs moved from +$69.4M and +$117.5M inflows to -$173.7M outflows, then back to +$9M, while prices ranged from $65,000 to $66,937.05. Ethereum, Solana, and XRP ETFs also showed uneven demand, alongside largely flat-to-volatile token prices.

Franklin Templeton has launched Franklin Crypto, positioning it as an institutional-grade crypto investment management platform and outlining plans to use tokenized registered securities for settlement. The firm also plans to acquire 250 Digital and its liquid cryptocurrency strategies managed by CoinFund, with the deal expected to close by Q2 2026.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis called the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025 the "best thing that could happen to the DeFi community," arguing it could bring legal certainty for developers, validators, and node operators. Yet Polymarket pricing still reflects hesitation, with odds at 49% at the time of writing. Separately, Better Money Company says it plans a "stablecoin clearinghouse" as stablecoin transaction volume reached $72.3 trillion over the last 12 months.

Bitcoin has moved back above $71,500, but on-chain activity suggests a battle between selling and longer-term accumulation. Arkham data shows Bhutan’s government sent over 500 BTC to market, while BlackRock withdrew more than 2,200 BTC from exchanges as BTC held near $71K and watched $71,200 support and $72,500 resistance.
