SharpLink Gaming CEO Joseph Chalom outlined three developments he says Ethereum needs to regain momentum: passage of the US Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY), a broader return of risk appetite, and faster growth in real-world asset tokenization. He also said global financial hubs are closely tracking the US policy shift as lawmakers advanced the bill in a Senate Banking Committee vote. SharpLink holds about 861,251 ETH valued at $1.89 billion, while ETH was $2,190 at publication after falling 55% from its $4,823 peak in August 2025.

Santiment says Bitcoin sentiment has turned notably bullish after the US Senate Banking Committee advanced the CLARITY Act in a 15–9 bipartisan vote. Bitcoin was trading at $79,084 at publication, up 3.15% since May 1, while Santiment flagged 1.55 bullish comments per bearish one and urged caution even as some analysts stayed optimistic.

Santiment said a surge in bullish crypto commentary on social media could be a caution sign that the current upswing may not last. In a Saturday report, the firm put the bullish-to-bearish comment ratio at about 1.5:1, while Bitcoin was up 11.50% over 30 days and traded at $80,628 at publication. It added that a pullback toward $75k could reset sentiment, even as BTC exchange supply has risen over the past five days.

Drift Protocol said the exploit discovered on Wednesday caused losses of about $280 million, based on external estimates, and described it as a coordinated operation that unfolded over roughly six months. The team said it has “medium-high confidence” the same actors were behind Radiant Capital’s $58 million October 2024 hack, and it is working with law enforcement to reconstruct what happened during the April 1 attack.

Santiment said bearish discussion about Bitcoin on social media has risen to its highest level since late February, a setup it argues can precede a price rebound. On Saturday, the bullish-to-bearish comment ratio was 0.81, and Bitcoin traded around $67,100 at publication time after falling 5.53% over the past 30 days. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index remained in "Extreme Fear", with a score of 12 on Sunday.

ETF analyst James Seyffart said spot Bitcoin ETFs could eventually hold more assets under management than gold ETFs as demand broadens beyond the “digital gold” thesis. He argued Bitcoin can serve multiple roles in a portfolio, while gold is typically viewed through a narrower lens. The comments were made on a Coin Stories podcast episode published to YouTube on Friday.

On March 5, crypto policy group Coin Center sent a letter urging the US Securities and Exchange Commission to rely less on case-specific no-action letters and instead establish clear, industry-wide rules. The organization warned that selective relief for individual crypto projects can create fragmentation and uneven treatment, even as recent no-action letters from the SEC and CFTC have addressed DePIN projects, custodians and a wallet provider.

Large Bitcoin wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC have started adding to their positions again while the price trades near $71,000, according to Santiment. The share of Bitcoin supply held by these addresses has risen to 68.17% from 68.07% over seven days, and Santiment is watching whether retail-owned balances begin to fall to validate a potential local market bottom.

Galaxy Digital's Alex Thorn warned that if the US CLARITY Act fails to clear committee by the end of April, the likelihood of it becoming law in 2026 will be very low. He noted that debates over stablecoin rewards are seen as the main obstacle but cautioned that additional issues around DeFi, developer protections and regulatory authority could emerge, while other analysts project any crypto market structure rules may not take effect until 2029.
